What we can offer The Beyond Carbon Group ('BCG') provides the business leaders of tomorrow with a fantastic opportunity to develop soft skills and help protect the global environment. Opportunities include a mentoring scheme to develop leadership skills, participation in an exclusive network of businesses and environmental organisations and the chance to receive media training and have articles published. Mentoring The BCG provides junior employees and those that are chosen to be fast tracked to management from each BCG Member Business with the opportunity to develop leadership skills from the outset of their careers. Ibex Earth partners a BCG Member Businesses with an environmental organisation for a period of twelve months. During that time a group of 2-6 employees’ works with and advises that environmental organisation in relation to a business issue that they are currently facing. Support can take the form of advice on business strategy and planning, financial accounting, marketing and business development and gaining charitable funds. The mentoring aspect is designed to both test and reward all those involved with a senior manager of the BCG Member Business supervising the workload. Upon successful completion of the twelve month scheme those involved in the group are nominated for the Annual Beyond Carbon Awards, which aim to reward those making a positive impact upon our planet’s environment. Networking The BCG aims to establish an exclusive network of future business leaders and environmental organisations from a variety of sectors. The BCG will look to host four exclusive quarterly events for those involved in the mentoring scheme, which will be held at some of London’s most prestigious environmental venues (including the Royal Geographical Society and the ZSL London Zoo). Each networking event will include a series of business related challenges that are specifically designed to focus people to network and gain additional skill sets. After the challenges BCG Members will be able to hear talks from some of the world’s leading environmental figures over drinks and canapés. Furthermore each Member Business will be provided with the opportunity to host their own networking event(s) throughout the calendar year. This aspect of the BCG is designed to provide those involved with the mentoring scheme with the chance to improve their organisational skills and provide them with additional public speaking opportunities. Publication of Reports The BCG aims to provide Member Businesses with a means to publish reports and articles on issues relating to four main topics (i) sustainability; (ii) biodiversity; (iii) conservation; and (iv) the UK’s transition to the low-carbon economy. The completed reports and articles will be published on the Ibex Earth website and be promoted to Ibex Earth’s extensive media contacts. Media Training (videos) An added extra offered by the BCG is to provide BCG Member Businesses with the opportunity to have a five minute video filmed and produced about the work they conduct in terms of work on the environment, either with their partner charity or as part of their CSR programme. All videos can be promoted via Ibex Earth’s social media channels in order to promote the work of the BCG. Other benefits Each BCG Member Business will have its own profile in a specially designated BCG login area on the Ibex Earth website. This will include:
